This kit supercedes our “Stage IV Kits” and is used in our inhouse built GMax transmissions.
Sun Coast engineered this kit and manufactures many key components that have made it possible to hold the torque your Duramax is putting to the ground. We have assembled the best parts available for your Allison 1000 transmission and put it in a kit form to enable shops to build a dependable unit. This kit only upgrades the clutches for C-1, C-2, C-3 and C-4. Note C5's are coming soon. For Clutch only upgrades use kit number GMax-5-1. Kit number GMax-5-2, it comes with hydraulic upgrades.

Transgo® Allison Shift Kit® for the 2001-2005 Chevrolet & GMC HD trucks, diesel or gas. This heavy duty kit corrects the common problems with these transmissions; goes into neutral under load, 3-4 slip, burned C2 or C3 clutches, sticks in one gear, won't move after extended parking, loss of pump prime. This kit includes smart clutch control valves for increased durability and Short-Crisp-Smooth-upshifts and kickdowns. This kit also reduces trouble codes. This is the most complete shift correction kit available and definitely the most reputable. Transgo® Allison C1 Quick Fill Valve increases C1 clutch flow over the OEM valve. Transgo® Allison 2001-04 Boost Valve,This valve is the converter flow valve. This valve controls fluid to the convrter clutch and cuts back pressure from 250 psi ( or so ) to 145 psi when the converter clutch applies. This valve will bring that pressure to a more acceptable 170-190 psi, and much more depending on application. We need this extra pressure because all you guys that are running big programs and are pushing the pressure limits for clutch holding power. Sun Coast pressure regular shim to increase main line pressure and custom tool to help install.

Billet Flex Plate for Duramax 6.6L Diesel

This replaces the factory flywheel/flex plate with a improved billet one piece design, eliminates the heavy cast iron and the weak stamped steel flex plate. This is a must with the high torque in conjunction with a better designed torque converter that can transfer the torque with no slip. The flex plate is bolted to the crank shaft, then the converter is bolted to flex plate. The torque from your is transfered to the flex plate, from the flex plate to the torque converter then to your input shaft in the trans. With increased torque from the engine and no slip out of the converter it can crack and/or rip the center out of a stock flex plate.
NOTE: A SFI certified flywheel flex plate is required on drag racing vehicles running 11.99 and quicker in the 1/4 mile and 7.49 and quicker in the 1/8 mile, or any vehicle exceeding 135mph. It was changed in 2008 from the 29.1 SFI specification to the SFI specification 29.3 for automatic transmission flex plates for diesel applications. The new rules for the flex plate requires that the material can not be a stamped metal as many OEM and after market flex plates are. To maintain the SFI specification 29.3 requirements, the flex plate must be replaced every three years.
